How To Acquire White Teeth

Human teeth are an essential part of the human body that are used for biting and chewing food. There are four types of teeth in the human mouth: incisors, canines, premolars, and molars. Each type of tooth has a specific function and shape that helps with different types of food.

  • Incisors are the front teeth, located at the front of the mouth. They are used for biting and cutting food.
  • Canines are sharp teeth located next to the incisors. They are used for tearing food.
  • Premolars are located between the canines and molars and are used for crushing and grinding food.
  • Molars are large teeth located at the back of the mouth. They are used for grinding and crushing food.

Humans have two sets of teeth in their lifetime: baby teeth and adult teeth. The baby teeth, also known as primary teeth, begin to appear at around six months of age and are replaced by adult teeth, also known as permanent teeth, between the ages of six and twelve.

Ways Of Having White Teeth

There are several ways to acquire white teeth, including:

  1. Professional teeth whitening: This can be done at a dentist’s office or with at-home kits prescribed by a dentist. These methods use strong bleaching agents to remove stains and discoloration from the surface of the teeth.
  2. Brushing and flossing regularly: Brushing twice a day and flossing once a day can help remove plaque and surface stains on the teeth, leading to a brighter smile.
  3. Using teeth-whitening toothpaste: These kinds of toothpaste contain mild abrasives and chemicals that can help remove surface stains on the teeth.
  4. Avoiding stain-causing foods and drinks: Foods and drinks that can cause stains on the teeth include coffee, tea, red wine, and dark-colored fruits and vegetables. Limiting or avoiding these items can help keep teeth looking white.
  5. Using a straw: When drinking dark-colored beverages, using a straw can help reduce the amount of liquid that comes into contact with your teeth, thus minimizing the chances of staining.
  6. Baking soda and Hydrogen peroxide: Mixing baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a paste, and then brushing with it can help remove surface stains on the teeth and make them appear whiter.

It’s worth noting that some teeth discoloration are not caused by surface stains, but by intrinsic factors, such as genetics, medication, excessive fluoride intake or trauma, those factors can only be treated by a dentist.
